For the unaware, SHSH blobs or ECID SHSH is a unique signature given by Apple for each firmware. While restoring firmware on your iPhone or iPod Touch, iTunes checks the ECID SHSH of your device, and compares it with Apple’s servers. Now that iOS 4 GM is available, the iPhone Dev team has updated Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta to support the new iPhone OS. Currently this new Beta works only for Mac OS X, and for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. iTunes 9.2 is required to activate your iPhone, which again is currently available only for Mac OSX.
