Wirelessly Sync iPhone/iPad With Windows/Mac OSX Computer
Remember the Wi-Fi sync app that we wrote about a month ago, which lets you sync your iPhone or iPod Touch wirelessly with your Computer, thus putting an end to the old iTunes-USB cable syncing? Wi-Fi Sync was released a while ago in Cydia.
However the client application that is to be installed on your Computer was compatible only with Mac OSX. The latest release of Wi-Fi Sync brings a Windows compatible client app, along with support for iPad. In order to wirelessly sync your iPhone or iPad with your Computer, you need to install Wi-Fi Sync client app on your Windows PC or Mac (download links given below).
Jailbreak your iPhone or iPad if you haven’t already done so. Launch Cydia, go to Sections, choose the ‘Networking’ section and ‘Wi-Fi Sync’ from the list of packages. Add the BigBoss repository to your list of sources in Cydia if you are unable to find Wi-Fi Sync.
Currently this app is available at a price of $9.99. Download and install it. Run the client application of Wi-Fi sync on your Computer, make sure that both your iDevice and PC are on the same wireless network, and then launch Wi-Fi Sync on your iPhone or iPad.
Pair your iPhone/iPad with your Computer by clicking on ‘Yes’ for the Pairing confirmation messages, and you are all set to go. You will now be able to see your iDevice in the list of devices in iTunes, and you can sync all your music, photos or files just the way you did using the USB cable.
