Apple has decided to not support the flash format on it’s iDevices, including iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. And this has created quite a furor, and a harsh criticism from Adobe, the company behind Flash technology. Ever since this move of Apple, users of Facebook have been unable to view Flash videos directly on their device.

Now here is a piece of good news to all you Facebook addicts. The world’s most popular social networking site now supports HTML5 Video, thus allowing you to play any of it’s embedded videos on your iPhone or iPad. HTML5 is soon going to be the standard of the future for video streaming, and Facebook could not afford to be kept out of it, especially with millions of iPhone and iPad users.

Currently, only new videos uploaded to Facebook are in HTML5 format. So you still need Flash player to play the old ones. So the next time you receive link to a Facebook video, you can directly open it on your iPhone or iPad.
