Spirit Untethered Jailbreak For iPhone Works On iPad Too

Recently, a userland untethered jailbreak for iPhone firmware 3.1.3 video surfaced, and was confirmed as real by iPhone Dev Team member musclenerd. This exploit, found by comex officially goes by the name ‘Spirit’. While we expected that this exploit may also lead to iPad jailbreak, we did not expect it would come so soon.

Yes, just a couple of days after iPad is released in retail, iPad with iPhone OS 3.2 has been successfully jailbroken using Spirit userland untethered jailbreak. No ETA is yet available for Spirit’s release, however it may arrive just in time for the iPad 3G release in May. Check out the below video showing the developer has root access to a jailbroken iPad.
