Recently Apple purged out WiFi scanner apps such as eWiFi from the App Store. According to Apple, these apps use undocumented, private APIs, and are therefore not legal. Following this action by Apple, many WiFi app developers started releasing their apps in Cydia, for jailbroken iPhones.

WiFiFoFum is another such app, which scans for 802.11 wireless networks and displays a list of all available networks, including their SSID, MAC, Signal strength, channel, AP mode, security mode, and available transmission rates. You can then easily connect to any of the networks in the list. This app lets you save money by finding local free wireless networks, say in an airport, a restaurant, etc.

This app is now available for free in Cydia in the BigBoss repository.

In order to download and install this app, launch Cydia, and search for ‘WiFiFoFum’.
