As you are aware, Apple iTunes 10 billion songs download contest has ended. Look who has won the $10,000 iTunes gift card. It’s not your average teenage who regularly downloads music from the app store, but a 71 year old grandfather from Woodstock, Georgia. The contest was started a couple of weeks back, when the iTunes downloads crossed the 9.8 billion mark.

Louie Sulcer did not believe it when Apple CEO Steve Jobs himself called in person to congratulate him. First of all, he was completely unaware of any ongoing contest when he purchased the 10th billionth song, it’s 1958 Johnny Cash hit “Guess Things Happen That Way”. It took him a while and the Apple caller ID on his phone to trust Steve Jobs. Louie Sulver is a grandfather to nine, and loves country music.

I read it here first, so I have to validate from other site if the winner really is a 71 year old. If that’s the case, it’s odd but since most people expect somebody in their teens or 20-30 to win the prize as most internet users belong to these age bracket. Nonetheless, congratulations to the winner!
