Unlock iPhone 3G/3GS 3.1.3 Using BlackSn0w

BlackSn0w, the unlock tool from iPhone hacker Geohot (who also gave us blackra1n) can unlock iPhone 3G/3GS running on firmware 3.1.3. Those of you who are on baseband 04.26.08, UltraSn0w is the unlock tool for you. BlackSn0w works with the 05.11.07 baseband. In case you are an iPhone 2G user, you may want to check out redsn0w, a jailbreak and unlock tool that works on both Windows and Mac OSX.

First you need to jailbreak your iPhone 3.1.3 using Sn0wbreeze. Sn0wbreeze works with iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS (old bootroms only) and creates a custom IPSW (similar to PwnageTool for Mac OSX) with Cydia included.  After jailbreaking your device, follow these steps to unlock your iPhone 3.1.3 3G/3GS using BlackSn0w.

1. Launch Cydia on your iPhone and go to ‘Manage’ –> ‘Sources’.

2. Tap ‘Edit’, then ‘Add’. In the ‘Enter Cydia/APT URL’ dialog enter ‘http://blackra1n.com’ as the source url and tap ‘Add Source’.

3. Cydia will automatically add blackra1n to the list of sources. After the process is complete, search for ‘blacksnow’ in Cydia and install the app.

4. Blacksn0w will automatically unlock your iPhone 3.1.3 once it’s installation is complete.

After a reboot, your device will be completely unlocked and you can use any carrier you like.

    hi, i did as what the instruction say and i am wondering why my iphone 3g always reboot after unlock. it doesn’t work at all. it only shows the pineapple logo.

    please help, my iphone 3g keeps reboot over and over again after unlock with blacksnow. my iphone was jailbroke with pwange tool and i install blacksnow from cydia and install it. now it keeps reboot.

    hi
    i try to unlock by follow the instructions carefully
    its taking a long time to reboot then its stuck im sure if its ok or not
    or is it suppose to take long to reboot (its like more then 5mins i waited still stuck on loading at cydia i cant even turn off or use home button i have to restored everything again)
    how long its suppose to take to reboot
    can some one help me please
