iTunes Reaches 10 Billion Song Downloads, Contest Ends

The Apple iTunes $10,000 gift card contest has now ended, given that the number of songs downloaded from the App Store has now crossed the 10 billion mark. For those of you who are unaware, this contest was announced by Apple a couple of weeks back, promising a free gift card worth $10,000 to the lucky winner.

You could be the lucky winner of this contest in either of two ways. One, if you downloaded the 9,999,999,999th song from iTunes, or if you happen to be the first person to enter the contest by submitting a form, immediately after the 9,999,999,999th download. Among these, the first entry wins.

As of now, the winners are not yet announced. So, if you have participated in this contest, keep your fingers crossed, and hope for the best . In the mean while check out iPhone Apps gallery.

We predicted that the contest would end in around 10 days. Not very far from our prediction, the contest ended exactly13 days after our iTunes contest post.

On occasion of the 10 billion downloads, Apple has compiled a list of all time top songs. Black eyed peas, and Lady Gaga have topped the list, among others like ColdPlay, Taylor Swift, and Ke$sha.
