How To Downgrade iPhone 3.1.3 (Baseband 05.12.01) To 3.1.2

Apple has recently updated iPhone firmware to 3.1.3, and ever since then, there have been updates to jailbreaking tools such as PwnageTool 3.1.5, redsn0w 0.9.4, and Sn0wbreeze V1.5, to make them compatible with the latest iPhone OS. iPhone 3G 05.08 bootloader users who have accidentally upgraded their firmware to 3.1.3, only later realizing that they are unable to preserve their unlock, can now downgrade to iPhone 3.1.2 baseband 05.12.01, an unlockable version using Fuzzyband Cydia App.

Here are the steps to downgrade your iPhone 3G to 3.1.2 firmware using Fuzzyband:

1. Launch Cydia from your iPhone’s Springboard.

2. Tap on ‘Sections’ tab found at the bottom. Scroll down the list and select ‘System’.

3. Find ‘Fuzzyband Downgrader’ in the list of packages and select it.  Tap on ‘Install’ at the top right, then tap ‘Confirm’.

4. After the installation is complete, launch Fuzzyband Downgrader from the Springboard.

5. Fuzzyband will now query your iPhone’s modem and list details, including Boot loader version, Baseband version, and also iPhone OS version.

6. In case your bootloader is 5.08 you will be able to downgrade your iPhone 3.1.3 to 3.1.2.

7. Tap ‘Downgrade’ and Fuzzyband will take care of the rest.

    but how do i get cydia to my springboard? when i upgraded to 3.1.3 it was gone :/

      Did you jailbreak your 3.1.3? You can then get Cydia and downgrade your phone.

      If your device is on baseband 05.12.01 you can try to downgrade it to 3.1.2 using Fuzzyband. Before that you need to jailbreak your iPod Touch 3.1.3 using one of these jailbreaking tools: Sn0wbreeze 1.5, redsn0w 0.9 or PwnageTool 3.1.5

      Sn0wbreeze and redsn0w should work with Windows XP.

    i have the iphone 3g with the 3.1.3 firmware and a 05.12.01 baseband jailbroken nd i also have cydia….. heres the problem… when i download fuzzyband it tells me it can not work because it only works with baseband bootloader 05.08. totally need help havent had a phone for 3 weeks now cuz i only got a t-mobile sim card … how do i downgrade ???

      Fuzzyband is based on the exploit in the 5.08 bootloader. So it works only if your device has this version of the bootloader.

    i have an “mc” – model so snowbreeze doesn’t seem to work. i tried redsnow 0.9.4 but it says “unable to recognize specified IPSW” after i downloaded and browsed “iPod2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw”. am i doing something wrong?

    i have a 3Gs iphone with 3.1.3 OS and baseband 05.12.01 i jailbreaked it using spirit… and i can’t seem to find Fuzzyband on Cydia.. . do you mind telling me what the repo or the source is that i should be adding to my cydia sources?

    i have jailbreak the iPhone now i need to know the steps for Unlocking
    I found out that Fuzzyband downgrades the Firmware then use ultrasnow to unlock
    but i dont have source fr Fuzzyband site help me guide to unlock my iPhone…

    After 8 weeks of sleepless night I successfully downgraded 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 and today unlocked it . Just tested a phonecall with my wife and It worked .volaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

    steps .
    redsnow 0.9.3 , 3.1.2 IPSW . – jailbreak -only click install cydia . had to do 3-4 times along with itunes restore. – this completed my jailbreak

    To activate it – download fuzzyband downgrader . add bigboss as a source repo.

    My phone started working after 2 months – wow .

    Thanks all to those who have contributed online . I find many bogus solutions there which killed my nights :-(
