How To Jailbreak iPhone Firmware 3.1.3 With Sn0wbreeze

Sn0wbreeze, the jailbreaking tool which allows you to build custom IPSW files, has now a new version available, for iPhone firmware 3.1.3. For the unaware, Sn0wbreeze is a Windows 7, Vista, and XP compatible tool, that can jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch and also apply custom boot logo, custom root partition size.

Sn0wbreeze joins redsn0w 0.9.4 and PwnageTool 3.1.5 for Mac OSX by getting upgraded for compatibility with the latest iPhone firmware 3.1.3. The latest release, Sn0wbreeze V1.5 for iPhone 3.1.3 can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS(old bootrom only) and iPod Touch 1G, 2G(non MC model). iPod Touch 3G not yet supported.

Note: You need latest version of iTunes installed on your PC. Back up all your valuable data, including music, photos, contacts, settings, and so on by syncing your device with iTunes.

Here are the steps to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 using Sn0wbreeze:

1. Download Sn0wbreeze V1.5 and iPhone OS 3.1.3 (download links given below).

2. Launch Sn0wbreeze and select the ‘Simple Mode’.

3. Browse and select the .IPSW file that you just downloaded for your device.

4. After the .ipsw file is verified, you will be asked “Do you want to activate your iPhone?”. Click ‘Yes’ in case you want to continue with the hacktivation, else ‘No’ if you are running on an officially supported carrier.

5. Now Sn0wbreeze will create the custom .ipsw file, with Cydia included, so that you can later restore your iPhone to this custom firmware bundle.

6. After the custom .IPSW is created, open iTunes, select your device from the sidebar, hold down the ALT button on the keyboard and click ‘Restore’.

7. Select the custom 3.1.3 firmware cooked by Sn0wbreeze and click ‘Open’.

8. iTunes will now restore your device to this custom 3.1.3 .IPSW file. At the end of the installation, you will have a fully jailbroken iPhone on firmware 3.1.3.
