After Apple updated iPhone firmware to 3.1.3, there has been an update for redsn0w (0.9.4), a multi-platform jailbreaking tool that works with both Windows and Mac OSX. However redsn0w, unlike the more popular PwnageTool for Mac OSX and also the recently released Sn0wbreeze for Windows, cannot create custom IPSW files. So Mac OS X users have been eagerly waiting for the iPhone Dev Team to update the PwnageTool for iPhone firmware 3.1.3.

Well, PwnageTool 3.1.5, with support iPhone 3.1.3, has been released today by the iPhone Dev Team. This latest version of PwnageTool can jailbreak iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS(albeit only older bootroms with baseband 04.26.08), iPod Touch 1G, 2G (non MC models).

Warning: iPhone 3G and 3GS users, beware when jailbreaking your devices; any mistake while updating the firmware to 3.1.3 may lead to loss of unlock, possibly forever. Also, the iPhone Dev Team warns iPhone 3GS users to make sure they have the ‘SHSH hashes’ backed up via Cydia, before they proceed to jailbreak.

Note: You need latest version of iTunes installed on your PC.
