Mercury web browser was a popular choice as an alternative to the built-in Safari Mobile browser in iPhone, till it’s author for some reason decided to put a limit on the number of tabs that can be opened at a time. All those who have got upset with the limits in the last version, here’s a good news.

Mercury Web Browser 2.1, the latest version reverts the features removed from the previous version 2.0, including restoring the tab limit to 6 from the previously set 4, private browsing, removal of the start up splash screen which annoyed many of us by increasing the load time.

For the unaware, Mercury Web Browser is a strong competitor to Safari, with intuitive features such as opening 6 tabs simultaneously, full screen browsing, auto suggestions for URL inputting, private browsing, springboard for bookmarks, offline browsing, fast loading with caching, integrated Google search and a History panel.
